WORSHIP SERVICES:

Join us in person on Sunday mornings  at 10:30 a.m. to worship together.
Please go to our website (or click here) for more details about what to expect if you come to the church for worship.

We will continue our YouTube live services as well so you can participate in worship with us from home.  To watch the live-streaming of the service at 10:30, please use this link:  https://www.youtube.com/user/GalePresbyterian

Apple Pie Orders & Volunteers:

All Apple Pie orders must be in by Sunday November 1st.

You will be assigned a pick up time either on the Thurs evening, Friday during the day, Friday evening or on Saturday.  Thanks for understanding and your patience to support the ways we need to do this fundraiser this year.

Details on how to order pies this year can be found on our website:  https://www.galepresbyterian.com/apple-pie-orders/

We are still in need of a few more volunteers for the apple pie days of making.  Even if you can’t stay for the full-time frame, part of it will be of great help!  We are needing a few more on Friday evening and Saturday shifts.  Let Melanie Dow know if you can help (melanie.dow@galepresbyterian.com)

COMMUNITY OUTREACH PASSION PROJECT – FOOD BANK DONATIONS:
Hello, to the Gale Presbyterian members and whomever else may be reading this.  My name is Carlee Mueller and I am a grade 11 student at EDSS. As part of my Leadership Course, I will be creating and exploring a Community Outreach Passion Project. I have chosen to explore my passion about helping others. My goal is to raise as many food donations as possible that can be given back to the Woolwich Community Service Centre for them to provide for others. We can use this as an opportunity to thank them for supporting our community, because I’m sure their hard work does go unnoticed by many. So, if you can please bring in any non-perishable food donations or any other essential needs, you are helping a worthy cause and you are supporting this project. These donations need to be collected by Sunday November 8th.  (pick up your pies and drop off a food donation at the same time!)

Gale is in search of some props!
We are planning to prepare a “Covid-safe” (aka video) Christmas concert which will be aired in December. To help us prepare, we would like to obtain some turf, or imitation grass, or some green carpet.  If this is something you have stored in your garage or shed, and would be willing to either loan or give it to the “prop department,” it would be welcomed.
Please contact Kim Denstedt at kimatgale@rogers.com or call me at 519-669-5343.

Poinsettia, Cyclamen & Amaryllis Order 2020:
These flowers are for sale again this year!!!  You can request an order form to be sent to you or you can go to our website and click on the link to follow the directions provided.
All orders must be in Sunday November 15th.
Plants will be delivered to the church on Thursday November 26th.
You can come to the church to pick up plants after 11am or contact Melanie Dow to arrange for delivery to your house.  melanie.dow@galepresbyterian.com

KIWANIS FOOD DRIVE
It’s again that time of year when we think of the Woolwich Community Services (“WCS”) Christmas Goodwill Hampers.
While the need will be greater, as a result of Covid19, the Hampers will be done somewhat differently.  As part of the change there will be NO DOOR TO DOOR FOOD DRIVE.

Instead funds will need to be raised to replace the food, that would otherwise be put in such hampers, and WCS will be replacing the food with Gift Cards for Foodland and Food Basics.  Set out below is a brief summary of how this fundraising will be accomplished.

  1. Area Service Clubs are joining together to offer you an opportunity to donate (either cash or by cheque) at certain businesses in Woolwich Township on Friday November 20th and Saturday November 21st.
  2. As an alternative at any time before December 5th:
A:  donations of cash, cheques or gift cards for Foodland or Food Basics will be accepted at WCS’ office located at 5 Memorial Ave, Elmira; or
B:  online donations may be made at https://www.woolwichcommunityservices.org/donate; under the Fund dropdown, please choose Christmas Goodwill (Food)

New Elders 2021:
The Session of Gale Presbyterian Church is the group that discerns and directs our ministry in our community. It is made up of men and women who feel  called to take up leadership in the church.  Every two years some members (called Elders) retire from this group and new members join. We are now searching for new Elders and we request your input in the nominating process. We are looking for 5-6 persons to serve a 6 year term.
There is a form available for anyone to make suggestions of who they believe would serve well in this capacity. You can get the form from the office, from your elder or emailed to you. Any current member of Session and Rev. Sinclair are available to answer any question you may have about this essential role in our ministry.
Please use this opportunity to assist the Gale Session as we move forward into a vibrant future.
