Apple Picking – An event for ALL ages!
We have apples that are touching the ground and apples up 10+ feet high!
We need volunteers of all sizes to help pick these apples for our Apple Pie Fundraiser.
Meet at the church on Saturday, October 7th & 14 at 9am or meet us at the orchard at 9:30.If you can’t make it for 9:30 but can help later in the morning, you can call Melanie’s cell (519-835-1711) to find out if the group is still picking apples.
What we need for picking apples:
– sturdy banana boxes
– ladders (for reaching the tops of the trees)
– boots (in case the grass is wet)
– gloves (to keep your hands warm when picking)
– a few trucks/vans/suvs for taking the apples to the storage location
We will have pails/buckets available for collecting the apples.
Our hope is to pick as many apples as possible so that we do not have to purchase extra apples for the pies.
