Sermon Short for August 19th – Summer Thanksgiving

Sermon Short – Summer Thanksgiving

Genesis 1:26 – 2:3, Mark 2:23-27

Summer-time – and the living is easy. In the good ol’ summertime. Why ain’t it always summer – it would be great…

Let me go on and on with the myriad of song lyrics celebrating summer. We get it best in our climate zone because we get a reasonable amount of winter to make summer a blessing and we get a reasonable amount of summer to make up for winter. Although the seasons are different in our area than in the lands of the Bible, our spiritual ancestors still wrote and prayed about God’s hand in the changing of the seasons. And they approached each of these seasons with a sense of spiritual sacredness.

Here – in the middle of the summer – we will take a worship to celebrate and be thankful for this season of abundant blessings.
