This is the Sunday just before Christmas. Lots of visitors in our homes and in our churches. Love is all around.
This week we will reflect more on the hymns we sing and the message they bring. Two carols are specifically interesting because on the surface they’ve got it wrong. But in getting it wrong, they make it right. “In the moon of wintertime” and “In the bleak mid-winter” are two beloved Christmas carols that really don’t make sense unless we sing them through the lens of Christianity – God’s love is all around and it is meant for everyone in all times and places.
