SPINNING IT RIGHT
Isaiah 53:1-12, Psalm 22:23-31, Mark 8:31–38
Martin Luther King Jr said, “Most Christians are thermometers that record or register the temperature of majority opinion, not thermostats that transform and regulate the temperature of society.” How common it is it for us to water down the sacrificial message of Jesus to make it more palatable to the current culture. When Peter tries to do this he is rebuked as being an agent of Satan.
The politics of our faith call us away from being merely thermometers, changing with the winds, but be thermostats, challenge things and change things.
