Sermon Short for October 28th, 2018
Mark 10:17-31, Job 23:1-9, 16-17
We come to church hoping to be better for it. We hear words and sing songs and pray about being good followers of Jesus. But there is a trick to this that we often brush aside. We don’t advertise it much – following Jesus means sacrifice as much as it means redemption. Once we really meet Jesus close up we find out it can be demanding and difficult. We all know people who have turned away from God when they found out that following Jesus was not all rosy and easy.
Be careful – there’s a trick to following Jesus.
This Sunday we welcome the Royal Canadian Legion, Elmira Branch 469 for their annual divine service.
