LENTEN COMMUNIONS

TUESDAYS IN LENT – 7:00 pm

The season of Lent began with Ash Wednesday. Lent is a season of reflection and preparation leading us to Good Friday and Easter.

At Gale we have been holding special mid-week communion services, each Tuesday concluding on March 31st.  Beginning at 7 pm and lasting about 30 – 45 minutes, these meaningful and

non-traditional communion services will be another opportunity for us to enrich our walk with God. Come and join us in the chancel for these special services.

March 24th – A service of anointing
March 31st – Messiah in the Passover (sign-up required)

HOLY WEEK 2015

Make this your time to get closer to God
Sunday March 29th – Palm Sunday Café Church – 10:30 am Relaxed & informal worship in our fellowship hall. Lots of Music Friday April 3rd – Good Friday 10:30 Worship & Message Ragman by Walter Wangerin Sunday April 5th– Easter 10:30
Worship & Message God is a Surprise!

On Tuesday March 31st we present Messiah in the Passover. This is a meaningful portrait of   our redemption through Jesus as seen through the vehicle of the traditional Jewish Seder. It demonstrates how Christ fulfills the eternal plan of salvation for all and how he instituted the Communion at the last Passover he celebrated with his disciples. This event requires a sign-up in the narthex so estimate materials needed.

Please join the Ladies of Gale for a Bridal Shower.
In honour of Christina Smith on Monday, April 13th at 6:30 p.m.
Hosted by: Carol MacIntyre and Jan Parsons
Bride is registered at Bed, Bath & Beyond

World Water Day…Access to clean water in Chimbonano village in southern Malawi used to be a huge challenge. Community members had to drink from unclean water sources or travel far distances to access clean water. Flonnie Mpunga knows how dangerous the situation was for her village. “Waterborne diseases were common and we spent a lot of time nursing each other. We couldn’t work hard in our fields, so we experienced food shortages.” But all that has changed thanks to a Presbyterian   World Service & Development program providing access to safe water by digging boreholes and wells. Flonnie shares, “Our lives have improved. We no longer spend long hours fetching water. I have enough time to prepare my field and take care of my family. The well has improved my family’s health, as well as the health of the whole community.” PWS&D responds to provide clean water.
