THE MOST HUMOURLESS ELECTION SINCE CONFEDERATION
I didn’t know the Rhino Party was still running candidates. But this time it’s personal. The Rhinoceros party candidate for Ottawa Centre, Conrad Lukawski lamented that the key leaders in this campaign were “sharp-witted in private, in public they are as dour as Presbyterian elders.” (Emphasis mine)
What are we to make of this while we seek to add new elders to our session? Dour? Lukawski needs to come to one of or session meetings. We’re singing. We’re praying. We’re laughing a lot. The only thing we’re missing is dancing – and that’s probably only because the room is too full of chairs right now.
Don’t let Conrad leave you with and outdated and “dour” impression of our work. Come and find out for yourself. The session seeks people to come forward to serve as elders at Gale Presbyterian Church. You may sense a call to this leadership position in our community.
On Thursday January 21st, 2016 we will hold an OPEN SESSION MEETING. All are invited to come and be a part of the decision making process of our faith community.
