1st Corinthians 3:1-15, Mark 4:26-32

While we can be rightfully proud of serving Elmira for 150 years we have to admit that we’re not as impressive as we have been. The study of our history and influence over all these years tells us we used to be big stuff in this world. The look across the pews on Sunday mornings now shows a different picture. Are we worried about what it will look like 150 years from now? Are we worried that Gale Church might not even be here 25 years from now? These are legitimate anxieties as we see the decline of the church all around us. What is our future?

I don’t know.

What I do know is that it’s going to be remarkably different than what we have now – remarkably different that anything we can imagine. It won’t be what we expect.

But I have unshakable confidence that it will be good. It will be of God.

Let’s go!
