ANNOUNCEMENTS

TODAY   **Join us for cold refreshments and fellowship after worship **
Tuesday         Prayer Group – 7:30 p.m.

For the summer months the Nursery is Open but not staffed.

Woolwich Community Services provide support for the most vulnerable in our Community.
We help by filling our grocery cart each month.
For the months of July & August we are collecting coffee, flour, canned fruit and ketchup.

SHOWERS OF HAPPINESS STACY DANN (Doug & Hilke Dann’s daughter) is getting married! It is difficult for Stacy to get to Elmira for a “Bridal Shower” so we are going to send our showers of good wishes and a gift card to her home in Toronto. If you wish to donate, please see Wendy in the office or give on Sundays at our gift card counter. We will collect until July 17th.

Snack donation sheets are posted on the bulletin board in the fellowship hall.   Please consider contributing to Gale’s V.B.S. outreach program by donating snack items.   Sign up for the item(s) of your choice.

Volunteers Needed!
In order to offer this great program to our families we need the help of many volunteers. While Kintail staff are leading the programming aspects of the day, Gale volunteers play an important role by acting as the camp counsellors. It is a great opportunity to get to know some of our youngest members and help the church reach other children in the community. To run the program, we need a minimum of five volunteers each day. A sign up list is on the board in the fellowship hall and if you would like more information please email Sarah Boyne at sarahaboyne@gmail.com.

Save the Date!
Sunday, September 11th is Rally Sunday.
CEC will be hosting a BBQ along with potluck of salads and desserts from the congregation.
Mark your calendars for this fun start up to the year of Sunday School and other activities in the Fall.

The library will not be staffed on Sunday mornings through the summer months, but will always be open for you to sign out books.  Also you may want to sign out several books for summer reading.  Please feel free to help yourself anytime through the week when the office is open.  Happy Reading!!

Do you have any scrap metal that is just destined for the landfill site?  If so, please know that Zion Mennonite Fellowship is collecting scrap metal to turn it into donation dollars for MennoHomes.  Tell all your neighbours and your friends too!  All scrap metal is to be dropped off at the home of Zion congregant Allister Gough at 57 Mockingbird Dr., Elmira on Saturday, August 6th

Sunday, August 28th, 3-6 pm MennoHomes fundraiser – Music including Zion’s Band and a BBQ at the Woolwich Community Services parking lot. Bring your family and friends to help support this great local initiative.

MennoHomes thanks everyone who supported our annual Bike-a-thon, Out-Spok’n VI. Together, participants, volunteers, and donors helped raise over $44,000. All proceeds will go towards new affordable housing in Elmira.

In the next few months, Woolwich Community Services is organizing a Back Pack program to provide for less fortunate children and youth, in Woolwich and Wellesley Township. As you are well aware, Woolwich Community Services provides a variety of services to its community members.

Most families receiving our services are unable to afford the extra expenses necessary for their children to return to school in September. This year we hope that every child and youth will go back to school eager to learn along with a full backpack and a smile on their face.

There is a need to fill 175 backpacks with “supplies required” for school this fall. Our philosophy is “Together Making Difference”. With your support, we will make a difference.

For more information, see Wendy in the office or speak to someone on our Life and Mission Team.
