Woolwich Community Services provide support for the most vulnerable in our Community. We help by filling our grocery cart each month. For the month of September we are collecting: Jam and Paper Products.
SHOULD WE APPLAUD IN CHURCH?
Do you ever have that uncomfortable desire to applaud following an element of our worship services? This is a question many have. To be in favour of applause or against it in church has merit on both sides of the question. At Gale Presbyterian Church it is our usual practice to refrain from applause and to offer congratulations and appreciation to people during our fellowship time following the service.
Apple Pie time of year is approaching!
On Wed., Oct. 28th and Thurs. Oct. 29th from 6-9 p.m. we will be making pie crusts. Then on Thurs.., Nov. 12th,
Fri., Nov. 13th from 6-9 p.m. and Sat., Nov. 14th from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. (with lunch to follow) we will be peeling apples, trimming apples, mixing sugar-cinnamon mixture, assembling pies, rolling pasty, bagging, boxing and cleaning up. Bring rolling pin with you and apple peelers if you have one.
Lots of jobs for everyone! This event takes a huge number of volunteers. Sign-up sheets are on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall or call Wendy in the church office (519)669-2852 to volunteer.
A THANKSGIVING EXPLOSION!
Get ready of our special service of Thanksgiving on October 11th, 10:30 a.m. Everyone is asked to bring a special item of thanksgiving to be used in our worship that day. Bring some food; canned or recently harvested. Bring some fall decorations like corn stalks or pumpkins. Bring any favourite memento of thanksgiving to add to our Thanksgiving Explosion! You are welcome to take these items home with you after the service. Anything left behind will be donated to the Woolwich Community Services.
Hilltop Singers and Journeymen benefit Concert for Ontario Christian Gleaners. Saturday, October 24 at 7 p.m., St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, Fergus. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at Bentley House Fine Teas or I Love Chocolate. For more information please see the poster on the bulletin board in the Fellowship Hall.
