Woolwich Community Services provide support for the most vulnerable in our Community.
We help by filling our grocery cart each month.
For the month of May, we are collecting meal helpers (hamburger helper, stove top dressing and sidekicks) and Chunky Soup.

A BIG THANK YOU

The Fish Fry Committee wish to thank all the people who helped in any way with this event.   The fish fry was very successful and profitable.   The proceeds from the fish fry are going to be split between MennoHomes, Woolwich Counselling Centre and Gale.

WE NEED YOUR HELP!
We need volunteers for the months of May and June.
If you could volunteer to help out with Coffee & Fellowship, Reading Scripture, Welcoming Elder or carrying the Prayer Bowl would you please sign up in the Volunteer Sign-Up binder or let Wendy know.

Gale Fellowship retreat forms are available on the table in the front foyer.  We need to know numbers TODAY.  Please return completed forms to Melanie Dow.  This is always an amazing time.

NOTE FROM THE LIBRARY:

Elmira native, Malcom Gladwell has written several books. The most recent is David and Goliath which is now in our library.
In David and Goliath, Malcom challenges how we think about obstacles and disadvantages, offering a new interpretation of what it means to be discriminated against, or suffer from a disability, or loose a parent, or attend a mediocre school, or experience any number of other apparent setbacks. Malcom draws upon history, psychology, and powerful storytelling to reshape the way we think of the world around us.
Other books in our library by Gladwell are The Tipping Point, Blink and What the Dog Saw.

Thursday, May 26th Dr. John Bowen will speak at Crieff Hills Retreat and Conference Centre on the topic “Roots and Wings:  Being Church in the 21st Century.”  Dr. Bowen will share about new ways to touch communities with the Gospels.  Join us at 10:30am for a day full of insight, challenge and hope!  Please call (519)824-7898 to register.  Cost is $21 and can be paid at the door.  Further information is available at www.crieffhills.com

The PCC national office has heard from The Rev. Lisa Aide, minister at Faith Presbyterian Church in Fort McMurray. The people from the congregation have all made it safely out of the city, though they are scattered north and south. They are waiting to hear about the status of their homes, the manse and the school where they worship.

Funds will be used in consultation with presbyteries and local congregations to support Presbyterian, ecumenical and other relief efforts.
