Mid-Week Lenten Services

The Elmira and District Ministerial has arranged a series of mid-week Lenten services to which all of our member churches and their members are invited to participate.

The series begins with Ash Wednesday – March 5, 2014. This year you are invited to begin your Lenten Journey with a time of Soup, Bread and Conversation at St. James Lutheran Church, 60 Arthur St. S. beginning at 6:00 p.m. Soup will be served by Regional Chair Ken Seiling, Mayor Todd Cowan and Pastor Hans Borch. Please come to share this nourishment as we begin our Lenten Journey. The easiest entrance to use would be the glass doors on Wyatt St.

At 7:30 that evening, the Ash Wednesday Service wil begin, with the imposition of ashes and Holy Communion. Rev David Jagger will provide the message.

Blow the trumpet in Zion; sound the alarm on my holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble, for the day of the LORD is coming, it is near.
